Pembiasaan Keigiatan Keagamaan dalam Membentuk Karakter Religius Peserta Didik di Mts Nurul Mujtahidin Mlarak

Abstract

The habituation of religious activities serves as a key strategy in instilling Islamic values through consistent practice, exemplary behavior, and the reinforcement of a religious school environment. The decline in students' religious character and moral degradation is a major issue faced by the madrasa. Therefore, the habituation of religious activities is considered a solution to improve students’ religious character. This study aims to describe the strategies, participation, and behavioral changes of students through the habituation of religious activities in shaping their religious character at MTs Nurul Mujtahidin Mlarak. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data analysis techniques based on the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model, including data condensation, data display, and drawing and verifying conclusions. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings show that the strategy of religious habituation is carried out routinely through role modeling, advice, storytelling, educational discipline, and extracurricular activities. The implementation involves all school elements such as the head of the madrasa, teachers, students, and OPNM in a coordinated manner. Behavioral changes are evident from students’ growing awareness and independence in performing religious activities such as congregational prayer, the 5S program, and reading the Qur’an.
