Penanaman Aqidah Islam Melalui Pembelajaran Kitab ‘Aqīdah al-‘Awām Karya Syeikh Ahmad Marzuki Kepada Santri di Pondok Pesantren Assyafi’iyah Durisawo Ponorogo

Abstract

In today's era, the younger generation faces various challenges arising from technological advancement and the abundant availability of information. Easy access to diverse content has reduced young people’s interest in studying religious knowledge, leading to limited understanding and weak practice of their obligations as Muslims. This study investigates the instillation of Islamic faith through the book ‘Aqīdah al-‘Awām learning at Pondok Pesantren Assyafi’iyah Durisawo Ponorogo. The study aims to (1) describe the learning process of the book ‘Aqīdah al-‘Awām, (2) identify the supporting and inhibiting factors influencing the instillation of Islamic faith, and (3) analyze the impact of this learning on students’ religious character. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation to provide a comprehensive understanding of the learning dynamics. The findings reveal the book ‘Aqīdah al-‘Awām learning is carried out through structured planning, implementation, and evaluation, enabling effective instillation of Islamic aqidah. This process is strengthened by a supportive boarding school environment, adequate facilities, and collaborative teaching practices, although challenges such as low student motivation and limited teaching personnel remain. Overall, the learning of ‘Aqīdah al-‘Awām positively influences students’ worship, comprehension of faith, spiritual strength, and moral behavior.
