Learning Motivation, Learning Style, Critical Thinking SkillsAbstract
In the era of Society 5.0, rapid technological development requires individuals to think not only creatively but also critically in responding to ongoing changes. However, at MAN Pacitan, students tend to accept information instantly without thorough analysis. This decline in critical thinking skills is concerning, as it affects students’ ability to make decisions, draw conclusions, and avoid misinformation, ultimately impacting educational quality. This study aims to: (1) examine the effect of learning motivation on students' critical thinking skills, (2) analyze the effect of learning styles on critical thinking skills, and (3) determine the combined effect of learning motivation and learning styles on the critical thinking skills of eleventh-grade students at MAN Pacitan. The research used a quantitative method with an ex post facto approach. Data were collected through questionnaires and tests. The results show that: (1) learning motivation does not significantly affect students’ critical thinking skills (sig. 0.378 > 0.05), (2) learning styles do not significantly affect critical thinking skills (sig. 0.395 > 0.05), and (3) learning motivation and learning styles together do not significantly influence students’ critical thinking skills (sig. 0.486 > 0.05).
