Abstract

This article aims to map research on ecological interpretation that has been carried out, relating to article authors, publication and citation trends, geographic distribution of publications, collaboration patterns between countries, and research focus. The emerging ecological crisis is a global problem that urgently needs to be solved and a solution found. It is hoped that research on ecology will contribute to resolving or minimising the impact of ecological crises. This study used bibliometric analysis methods. Research data collection comes from Scopus using several keywords, namely ecological interpretation, Islamic ecology, eco-theology, and environment. The database obtained was then analysed using the VOS Viewer and rstudio applications. The results of this study indicate that ecological interpretation is a developing field with the potential to make a significant contribution to Islamic scientific discourse, especially those related to ecology. Ecological interpretation research focuses on exploring verses of the Koran related to environmental issues such as conservation, sustainability, and ecological ethics, providing an Islamic perspective in responding to the challenges of the current global crisis.
