Abstract

One of the main challenges in collecting zakat in Indonesia is that many zakat payers choose not to use the available Zakat Management System (SIM). Some of the reasons behind this decision include a preference to distribute zakat directly to recipients or dissatisfaction with SIM, such as transparency issues, inaccurate data, or a lack of trust in the system. To overcome this challenge, a Zakat, Infaq, Sadaqah, Waqaf and Grant Management Information System (ZISWAH) was developed, known as SIMBA. This research uses a qualitative descriptive analysis method and focuses on the implementation of SIMBA at BAZNAS of Madiun City. The results of interviews with SIMBA operators and BAZNAS leaders as well as documentation studies and observations show that the implementation of SIMBA has provided convenience for muzakki, such as ease of obtaining NPWZ, proof of zakat deposits for tax deductions, and donation history records. This convenience increases muzakki's confidence in paying zakat through BAZNAS. In addition, the zakat collected by BAZNAS of Madiun City has increased every year, showing that SIMBA has played an important role in supporting more effective and transparent BAZNAS operations.
