Abstract

Juvenile delinquency in the psychological concept is usually called juvenile delinquency. Etymologically it is juvenile which means child, while delinquency is crime. So it can be concluded that juvenile delinquency is an act in the form of a crime committed by a juvenile which is against the law, anti-social, and includes blaming as well as violating social and religious norms. Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 3 Madiun is one of the madrasa aliyah in Madiun Regency. Problems regarding juvenile delinquency often occur, especially among students. Misbehavior that occurs in madrasas includes skipping class hours, smoking, being late, speaking disrespectfully to people and their friends. The existing delinquency is still classified as mild delinquency, but it can interfere with the learning process of students. The problems that will be discussed in this study, namely the role of Islamic religious education teachers in reducing juvenile delinquency that occur, as well as factors that become obstacles and support for Islamic religious education teachers in carrying out their roles. The results of this study indicate that juvenile delinquency committed by students has decreased. The role of Islamic religious education teachers in carrying out their roles is good and quite effective, using various methods, techniques, and utilizing various programs in madrasas.
