This inaugural issue of the Journal of English as a Modern and International Language presents seven articles that showcase diverse perspectives in English language education. The contributions span effective teaching as reflected in literature, interactive strategies such as guessing games and mind mapping, and established methods like the Directed Reading–Thinking Activity. They further introduce innovative approaches to enhancing listening and speaking through visual and multimedia techniques, while also addressing critical concerns such as student burnout and teacher coping strategies in EFL contexts. Collectively, these studies highlight the evolving practices, challenges, and innovations shaping English teaching and learning today.
