AI Policy
Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Excelencia: Journal of Islamic Education and Management acknowledges that artificial intelligence (AI) tools may assist in academic writing. However, their use must comply with academic integrity and transparency principles, in line with guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics.
1. General Principles
- AI may be used only as a supporting tool, not as a substitute for authors
- Authors remain fully responsible for the content
- AI use must not violate publication ethics
2. Acceptable Use
AI tools may be used for:
- Grammar and language editing
- Improving clarity and readability
- Structuring manuscripts
- Translation assistance
3. Unacceptable Use
Authors must not:
- List AI as an author or co-author
- Generate full manuscripts without critical review
- Use AI to fabricate data or findings
- Create fake citations or references using AI
4. Disclosure Requirement
If AI tools are used significantly, authors must:
- Disclose their use in the Acknowledgements or Methods section
- Mention the type of AI tool used
- Describe the purpose of its use

“The authors used an AI-based tool to assist with language editing.”
5. Author Responsibility
Authors must:
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of the manuscript
- Verify all data, analysis, and references
- Take full responsibility for any AI-assisted content
6. Editorial Policy
Editors reserve the right to:
- Reject manuscripts that violate AI policies
- Request clarification regarding AI usage
- Use detection tools to ensure originality
